EFL CUP SEMI-FINAL DRAW: Liverpool and Manchester United on course for the final

After Wednesday’s Europa League Cup Quarter final showdown, in which Manchester United trounced West Ham United 4-1 and Arsenal lost to Southampton 0-2, the semifinal draws will now be: Manchester United against Hull City and Southampton against Liverpool FC.

Manchester United and Southampton will play the first legs at home on 10th and 11th of January, and the seond legs are scheduled for 24th and 25th of the same month; while the final showdown will hold at Wembley on the 26th.

Having reached the semifinals, this is a competition now, that all teams will take seriously.

Pundits have said the Jose Mourinho side are concentrating more efforts on winning the League Cup, as it appears to be their best chance at getting a Champion’s league ticket this season. The Portuguese made his intentions clear by sending out a strong team against West Ham on Wednesday.

The Jurgen Klopp side seem to love this competition, as this marks their 17th semifinal in the Europa League championship. For Klopp, this is his third semifinal appearance in his time at Liverpool.

Finally, if both teams are able to go through Hull City and Southampton respectively, we will have a Man United-Liverpool battle at the final showdown of the Europa League at Wembley on January 26th.
