Egyptian court sentence 3 men to death for killing 10 policemen

A court in Egypt has sentenced three men to death for carrying out a string of coordinated attacks on policemen in the country.

The court in Cairo found the three defendants guilty of being involved in the killing of 10 policemen, including an officer, between August 2013 and May 2014.

The charges against the convicted trio also included establishing and running an armed group known as Ansar al-Sharia.

Both the defence and prosecution have the right to appeal against the charges and the conviction by the Cairo court.
