A former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili, yesterday lamented that the actions of Senators who trooped to the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) in support of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki is the reason Nigeria receives negative international ratings in terms of corruption.
Dr. Saraki on his part defended the actions of his colleagues saying they were there to ensure that the judicial institution is not weakened for personal causes
Ezekwesili said on her official Twitter handle that the act was shameful and tantamount to debasing the Senate as an institution, and also replied on twitter, that “due process is key for the sustainability of our democracy”.
