Falcons to face Gambia in 2018 AWCON qualifiers
The Super Falcons of Nigeria will face their Gambian counterparts in the second round of the qualifiers for the 2018 African Women’s Cup of Nations scheduled to hold in Ghana.
Gambia scaled through the first round after seeing off Burkina Faso on penalties after the second leg of their tie ended 3-3 on aggregate.
Gambia lost 2-1 to Burkina in the first leg and won 2-1 in the second leg, before winning 5-3 on penalties.

Super Falcons are the reigning champions of the biennial competition and they will begin their journey to retaining the title they won in Cameroon two years ago.
Gambia and the Super Falcons will face each other in June.
The African Women’s Cup of Nations will hold from 17 Nov 2018 – 1 Dec 2018; and the winners, runners up and second runners up will represent the continent at the 2019 World Cup in France.
