Guardiola, Kane, Valencia win EPL September Awards

Manchester City mananger, Pep Guardiola, Tottenham striker, Harry Kaneand Manchester United’s Valencia emerged winners of the Premier League September Awards.

The winners of the Awards were announced by the English top-flight on Friday.

Guardiola saw off competition from United’s boss, Jose Mourinho, Spurs’ manager, Mauricio Pochettino and Arsenal’s Arsene Wenger to win the Manager of the Month award for the second time since his move to England.

The Spaniard led City to win all four league fixtures in September, against Liverpool, Watford, Crystal Palace and Chelsea, scoring 17 goals without conceding.

Kane was voted the Premier League Player of the Month, while Valencia won the Carling Goal of the Month for his brilliant goal against Everton at Old Trafford.

Kane had a remarkable period in September as he netted six goals in four games for Tottenham, and also a hat-trick in their Champions League tie at Apoel.

Valencia fired into the top left corner of the net from Nemanja Matic’s pass to open scoring early in Red Devil’s 4-0 win against Everton.

Speaking to EPL website, the Ecuador defender said, “I am delighted to receive this award for Carling Goal of the Month and I’d like to thank everyone who voted for me.

“It’s a goal that I am proud of, I just hit it into the back of the net and then heard the crowd erupt at Old Trafford.

“It was a great feeling and it gave us the start we needed against Everton; we came away with three points which ended the day perfectly.”

The Premier League returns this weekend after a very delightful international break.
