How to detox your body at home

Going to the spa is the rave now and an in-thing if you can afford it.

But then, it is kind of elitist being that only the well-heeled often get such treatment whenever they want it.

Detoxing your system is beneficial to health as we daily take in all kind of harmful substances into our bodies knowingly or unknowingly, through food, air, creams etc.

Even if money grows on the tree in your backyard there are times you need to do things at home and your way. Below, from Wikihow are a few simple steps on how to detox of your system at home:

1) Purify Your Skin: You’ll start your cleansing routine in a relaxed and pampering way. You are a diva and you deserve the best. Prepare a warm bath and pour two spoons of Epsom salts in it. Relax in the warm water and let the salts do their work.

After a couple of minutes you’ll notice that the water changes its color. It means that the salts are removing metals and other harmful substances from your skin. Rinse and apply gently a nurturing cream

2) Purify Your Kidneys: Keep your body hydrated, your skin glowing and your kidneys flushing frequently by drinking plenty of water. You may add some drops of lemon or lemon slices to the water to increase the purifying effect.

3) Nourish Your Body: Feed your body on fresh fruits and vegetables. They are rich in minerals and vitamins that will refuel your organism with all the nutrients it needs.

4) Season Up With Pepper: Pepper, specially Cayenne pepper, is rich in antioxidants that are highly beneficial for your organism as they fight free radicals that make your body age. Reduce your daily salt intake by seasoning your meals with pepper.

5) Fiber Up: To cleanse your colon, introduce foods that are rich in fiber in your diet. Start slowly as it may make you feel bloat at the beginning.
