Jail break in Enugu

TWO hardened criminals have reportedly escaped from Enugu maximum prison.

The Public Relations Officer of the prison, Mr. Monday Emeka, however, refused to reply inquiries made to him.

Emeka picked Vanguard’s call in first instance and refused to make any speech but failed to pick subsequent calls nor replied text message sent to him.

A prison source who pleaded anonymity, however, ‎confided in Vanguard that two inmates indeed escaped.

It was learnt that‎ the jail break occurred at the wee hours of Saturday when the two notorious criminals whose names were not ascertained escaped.

Enugu Prison officials throughout yesterday had hectic meetings while manhunt for the escaped prisons were reportedly dispatched.
