Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, has ordered the state Anti-Corruption Commission to probe the disappearance of N6.8 million at the Kano Zoological Gardens, which was allegedly swallowed by a gorilla in the zoo.
Governor Ganduje ordered the antigraft commission to look into the immediate and remote causes of the allegation.
Ripples Nigeria had reported that an accounts officer at the Kano Zoological Gardens made the allegation that the gorilla swallowed N6.8 million cash.
The sum was generated by the zoo as gate fees collected from visitors of the garden, particularly during the Sallah festive period.
Kano state police command had also launched an investigation into the case, stating that 10 members of staff had been arrested, including the security man and those working in the finance unit.
