Kenyan wins Lagos City Marathon

Kenya’s Abraham Kiptom has emerged winner of the maiden edition of the Lagos City marathon with a time of 2hrs 21 mins, 20 secs ahead of his fellow compatriot, Hosea Kipkembe with Ethiopia’s Debebe Toise coming third.

Nigeria’s Sharabutu Philibus finished in the eight position and was the fastest Nigerian in the race.

With no fewer than 20,000 marathoners, the race began at the National Stadium, Surulere, then went through Ikorodu road to link Oworonsoki, passing through the Third Mainland Bridge to link Victoria Island and ended at the Eko Atlantic Beach.
