Gov Bello says he holds no grudge against Faleke

The Kogi State governor- elect, Alh Yahaya Bello has called on his deputy, Abiodun Faleke to accept the outcome of the governorship election in the state as the ‘will of God’.

Bello in a statements issued on Tuesday in Abuja, and signed by his media assistance, Suleiman Abdulmalik, said “I will continue to appeal to him and others to join hands with me in moving Kogi State forward, in politics we agree and disagree but dialogue remains the only solution to issues, but what happen in my state is an act of God”

Faleke was reported to have said he would not attend the inauguration of Bello, neither would he support him.

Bello noted, that dialogue remains the best solution to party issues, saying he has absolute confidence in the leadership of the party to end the disagreement, he described Faleke as a brother and that, what is happening in the state is a family affair.

The statement also advised Hon. James Faleke to accept the outcome of the election as the wish of God.

Abdulmalik said, “All hands must be on deck and we must rally round our candidate and the governor-elect, Alhaji Yahaya Bello. No winner, no vanquished; we must continue as one united family that we are.

“The governor- elect is a humble man who will not discriminate against anyone within the party, All Kogites should pray for and work towards peace, stability and progress of the state. We are using this opportunity to emphasise the need for the people to support their leaders for the benefit of all.”

Meanwhile, Faleke who refused to deputise Bello who succeeded late Audu in the election, on Tuesday, showed up in the House of Representatives, where he took part in the legislative business of the day.

Faleke who rejected being declared governor-elect of Kogi State after the death of his principal, Prince Audu currently represents Ikeja Federal Constituency in the 8th House of Representatives where he also chairs the Committee on Customs and Excise.

Faleke stormed the green chamber spotting a white flowing ‘Agbada’ and a hand-made red cap, amid cheers from his colleagues in the House as he approached the chair where he held a brief chat with Speaker Yakubu Dogara before resuming to take his seat.
