Kogi Gov’s aide, 2 others killed by unknown gunmen

A loyal aide to the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, identified as Mr. Yusuf Adabenege and two other victims have been reportedly killed by unknown gunmen in Okene town.

Reports say Adabenege alongside two of his aides were murdered while driving on Obehira-ege road in Okene following an ambush by the gunmen at the front of Living Faith Church, Okuha Anatahu Okene Obehira road around 6:40pm on Friday.

Witnesses say the assailants threw a hand grenade at his convoy forcing the vehicle to stop abruptly as Adabenege was dragged down from the vehicle.

The victim was reportedly killed when a hand grenade was dropped on his head by the killers who are now on the run.

The assailants also shot at two others in the vehicle including Adabenege driver identified as Musa.

Adabenege’s murder was confirmed by Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, who informed that security operatives have been drafted across the city to forestall any violence arising from the incident.
