Man nabbed with sons head
An investigation has now been opened by the Bauchi State Police Command after a man was arrested with a severed head reported to be that of his son wrapped in a cloth.
According to a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the State Command, Haruna Mohammed, the suspect was arrested in Misau Local Government Area of the state, based on intelligence report.
Reports say the suspect was nabbed with an accomplice after they both went to a cemetery in Galambi village to remove the head of his late son who was laid to rest there with the ultimate intention of selling it to a customer who is now on the run.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect conspired with his accomplice, one Damina Mohammed, male (26), of the same address and went to a graveyard in Galambi village and removed the head of a male child’s corpse in order to sell it to their customer now at large,” the police said.
“The principal suspect confessed that the child was his son who died and was buried there.”
Haruna further informed that the matter is currently under investigation following which the suspects will be sent to court for prosecution.
