Manchester United were thrashed 3-0 by Bournemouth in a Premier League game at Old Trafford on Saturday.

The Red Devils had defeated Chelsea in their previous game but failed to uphold the performance.

Dominic Solanke opened the scoring with a superb effort in the fifth minute of the game.

Second-half headers from Philip Billing and Marcos Senesi in the space of five minutes then completed the rout for the visitors.

Dango Ouattara had a fourth for Bournemouth in stoppage time but it was ruled out by the video assistant referee for handball.

United’s defeat comes only three days before their Champions League meeting with Bayern Munich, which they must win to stand any chance of advancing in Europe.

In the other Premier League games played concurrently, Brighton played a 1-1 draw with Burnley, Wolverhampton Wanderers also played a 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest.

Elsewhere, Sheffield United defeated their visitors Brentford 1-0. Liverpool had earlier on Saturday beat Crystal Palace 2-1.
