Nigeria to play Ethiopia or Kenya in U-17 Women's World Cup qualifiers

The Flamingoes will face their Ethiopian or Kenyan counterparts in the first round of the qualifiers for next year’s FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Uruguay.

The Nigerian women will be hoping to scale through the qualifiers and then make improvements to their last outing where they finished last in their group at the 2016 edition in Jordan.

As released on the official website of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Monday, Ethiopia and Kenya will play against each other in the preliminaries and the winner of the tie will play the Nigerian team.

Ethiopia will host the first leg of the fixture in mid October, before traveling to Kenya for the reverse fixture later in the same month.

The winner of the clash will then host the Flamingoes in the first leg which will come up early December, before coming to Nigeria for the second leg in mid December.

If the Nigerian team wins, they’ll advance to the final round of the qualifiers, which would then determine their attendance in the World Cup finals in Uruguay.
