Nigerian makes history as first African to fly solo around the world

A Nigerian pilot, Ademilola Odujinrin, on Wednesday made history when he emerged the first African pilot to undertake a solo flight around the world.

Odujinrin, popularly called ‘Lola’, achieved the feat after safely landing at the Washington Dulles International Airport, from the trip he embarked upon in September last year

He embarked on the trip under Project Transcend, a foundation which aims to inspire young people to achieve their goals, regardless of their personal circumstances.

He said: “Ever since I was a child, I dreamed of one day flying around the world. We have a responsibility to lead by example and follow our dreams. I want African children to think: ‘I can do this too!’”

“Ever since I was a child, I dreamed of one day flying around the world,” Sigh! I can’t say he’s mad because he was favoured by God.

I’ve been dreaming of having a multinational company since I was young, and I’m still here carrying the dream about with no one to help. Someone who dreamt of flying around the world got help, fingers are truly not equal

How can Project Transcend waste resource on someone who wanted to fly solo around the world? There are thousands of people with better dreams out there, they are not helping them achieve their dreams. Rubbish!

Now that his dream has come true, what next? Useless people!

Nigeria is country that celebrates arrant nonsense. If a celebrity has a break up in marriage, we celebrate it and talk about it, when a politician buys a car, we talk of it. We never think of celebrating students who make little project in their schools and help them develop it.

Celebrate peoples’ achievements so they can celebrate you too. Don’t be envious of good things.
