MISSILE ACTIVITIES: New & tougher sanctions underway for defiant North Korea

North Korean authorities have threatened nuclear retaliation should the United State impose any sea blockade off the Korean Peninsula as widely speculated in the media.

Reports say tensions between Washington and Pyongyang is on the rise after speculations of a possible American sea blockade off the Korean Peninsula which has now pushed the current standoff between the two countries towards nuclear confrontation.

“The gang of Trump … is driving the situation on the Korean Peninsula more and more close to the brink of war, acting recklessly without any sense of reason,” the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said in a Thursday report.

“A naval blockade is an act of wanton violation of the sovereignty and dignity of an independent state, and an act of war of aggression which cannot be tolerated.”

The threat by North Korea is coming as UN Security Council prepares to discuss North Korea’s nuclear and missile programmes on Friday in a special meeting that will be chaired by US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.
