Okorocha and his son-in-law plotted, destroyed APC in Imo –Uzodinma

The fate that befell All Progressives Congress (APC) during the recently concluded governorship election in Imo State has been described as a plot orchestrated by the outgoing governor Rochas Okorocha and his son-in-law, Uche Nwosu, who contested as Action Alliance (AA) governorship candidate in the poll.

APC governorship candidate in the election, Senator Hope Uzodinma, made this allegation in a statement on Friday, adding that the defeat of APC in Imo amounted to victory for Okorocha and his son-in-law, who were determined to destroy the party in the state.

While Nwosu came second to the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Emeka Ihedioha, who won the election, Uzodinma of the APC, took a distant 4th position.

Nwosu had recently claimed that the position Uzodinma landed in the result of the election proved that APC national leadership was wrong to have denied him (Nwosu) the ticket to run as APC governorship candidate in Imo.

Recall that Nwosu, supported by his father-in-law, Okorocha, had dumped the APC after he lost the party’s governorship ticket to Uzodinma. Okorocha had however remained in APC and contested senatorial election under the party.

But Uzodinma, who was reacting to Nwosu’s claim that APC made a mistake in choosing him as its candidate in the election, lambasted Okorocha’s son-in-law and said that he and his father-in-law were bereft of any electoral value and therefore unfit to cast aspersions on popularity or otherwise of him.

According to him, the fate that befell APC during the election was evil plotted by the duo with the PDP against APC. The plot he said was that result of votes cast for the APC was excluded from the final votes announced just to rob it of its deserved victory in the governorship and state House of Assembly polls.

He said, “It is truly pathetic that Okorocah and Nwosu are celebrating their defeat in the polls. Because of their double standards, defeat for APC amounts to victory for them. This crooked reasoning only goes to confirm what is already in public domain which is that he and his father-in-law set out from the beginning to destroy APC in Imo consequent upon which they colluded with the PDP to exclude the votes cast for the party in the elections, from the final collation.”

According to Uzodinma, Nwosu is a political infant and was no match for him in any electoral contest. He boasted he had won his senatorial elections back to back while the AA candidate has never won any election in his life and lost the only election he ever contested.
