Okorocha inaugurate 38 boards weeks to expiration of tenure

With less than two months to the end of his administration, Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha, Friday inaugurated 38 different board chairmen, governing council as well as government agencies in the state.

Okorocha was represented by the Secretary to Imo state government, SGI, Mark Uchendu, at the event that held at the Imo International Conference Center, IICC, in Owerri.

According to Uchendu, the inauguration was to make sure that government continues running after Rochas Okorocha’s government has exited.

The chairman of  Okorocha’s faction of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Dan Nwafor, was inaugurated as the chairman of Owerri Capital Development Authority, OCDA.

Uchendu, wished the newly inaugurated board chairmen well in their new assignment, maintaining that, “These people are for government assignment. We know that government is a continuity and you will work for the state.

“We will give you your appointment letter here and now to start work. Some of the tenure of the board last for three years some four years. In fact by the time you start work, on Monday, you will be presented with the letter that will give all the details you need and the number of years that you are expected to stay in office.”
