Orji’s political dynasty shapes up in Abia

The political dynasty of the immediate past governor of Abia State, Chief Theodore Orji, has continued to grow despite bowing out of Government House and headed for the National Assembly to represent Abia Central in the Senate.

Orji, popularly called Ochendo by his supporters had his son, Chinedu, emerged Majority Leader of the Abia State House of Assembly.

The Speaker of the House, Martins Azubuike, disclosed this during a courtesy visit to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.

Azubuike, while introducing his colleagues to Ikpeazu, said Abraham Oba, an APGA lawmaker representing Aba-Central, is the Minority Leader.

He also said Tony Nwubani, a PDP lawmaker representing Ukwa-West constituency, is the Majority Whip, while the Minority Whip is Chibuzor Okogbue, an APGA lawmaker representing Bende-South constituency.

A PDP lawmaker, Mr. Cosmos Ndukwe, representing Bende-North was elected as the Deputy Speaker during the inauguration of the House last Thursday. The House comprises 13 PDP members and 11 APGA members.
