Osinbajo meets with ex-VP Sambo behind closed doors (Updated)

The Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo, on Wednesday met behind closed doors with former Vice-President Namadi Sambo.

The meeting which started at about 4pm held inside Osinbajo’s office at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, soon after Sambo’s arrival.

Sambo was former President Goodluck Jonathan’s vice and lost the 2015 presidential election to President Muhammadu Buhari and his vice, Yemi Osinbajo.

There are no details yet to what may have informed his visitation.

However, Sambo who later spoke to newsmen stated that the visit was a familiarization one from a former Vice President to a sitting one, seeing that former presidents also visit siting presidents.

He said, “As you know, former presidents visit Mr President and former vice presidents visit incumbent Vice President”.

Sambo while thanking his former staff at the Presidential Villa stated, “I am happy to see all of you our old colleagues here and I want to thank you very much for this very good reception.’’

He however declined to disclose what transpired between Osinbajo and himself behind the closed doors, explaining, that it was private.
