Osun gov elect Oyetola receives certificate of return

The winner of the Osun State governorship election, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, has been given a certificate of return by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The commission’s Director of Legal Services, Mr. Oluwatoyin Babalola, handed Oyetola, who contested on the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC), the certificate of return at INEC office in Osogbo, the Osun State capital on Wednesday.

Babalola represented the chairman of the electoral body, Prof Mahmood Yakubu, at the event.

“We will ensure that our programmes are people-friendly. The main focus of our administration will be the welfare of the people. I must not fail to recognise the governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, for giving me the opportunity to serve. I have been a private person but the opportunity given me to serve in the public service was a great one,” Oyetola said as he received the certificate.

Oyetola had defeated the Peoples Democratic Party, Senator Ademola Adeleke.
