Police nabs 2 suspects over kidnap of 3-year-old

The long arm of the law has caught up with two suspects who have been arrested in the Madalla area of Suleja, Abuja over the abduction of a three-year-old child.

The suspects who were nabbed by men of the Niger State Police Command for alleged human trafficking were identified as Blessing Aluna, 23, of the Rimi Lokoja Local Government Area of Kogi State, and one Oludare Jeprince, 36, of Giri Abuja.

According to reports, the main suspect, Aluna had allegedly in the past sold her one-week-old child for the sum of N200,000.

Further findings revealed that Aluna had in the past also assisted one Precious Ade of the Gwagwalada area of Abuja to sell her 15-month-old baby for the sum of N250,000.

In that transaction, Aluna reportedly received the sum of N50, 000 as her share of the proceeds of the sale of the innocent child.

In her confessional statement, Aluna said; “Imagine me selling my child for money; that will tell you the level of hardship in the country.

“I sold my own child for N200,000 in order to open a provision store in Suleja at least to take care of myself and my siblings.”

She also noted that she doesn’t deserve to be alive due to the crimes she has committed.

“I have done the worst thing to humanity and especially to my own child. I don’t think I deserve to be alive, let the law take its course.”

The arrest of the two suspects was confirmed by Muhammad Abubakar, the command’s Public Relations Officer who revealed that the suspects who have confessed to the crime will soon be prosecuted.
