Policeman shoots commercial bus driver who failed to give N50 bribe

A commercial bus driver identified as Udoka Ezeme is now treating his wounds in hospital after he was allegedly shot by a police officer for failing to part with N50 bribe.

Reports say the incident happened in Isuaniocha, in the Awka North Local Government Area of Anambra State when the victim was accosted by some policemen at a police checkpoint in the area.

An eyewitness who declined to be named said one of the officers at the checkpoint shot the driver after he parked by the roadside to answer their interrogation instead of parting with N50 bribe which is the norm.
