Protect your votes, resist rigging, Ize-Iyamu tells Edo voters
Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, candidate of the People Democratic Party (PDP) in the Edo State governorship election holding on Wednesday September 28, has called on the people to protect their votes and resist rigging.
This is as he also advised officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies to ensure best practices in conducting a free, fair and acceptable election.
Ize-Iyamu who stated this in a statement issued by the Media Unit of his campaign organisation on Sunday, added that those who have schemed how to manipulate the election would be put to shame.
He also called on the electorate to avoid being bought with stipends by Governor Adams Oshiomhole and the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Godwin Obaseki, the duo he said, subjected them to unbearable hardship in nearly eight years.
“The people of Edo have concerns over Godwin Obaseki, not only because of his questionable business dealings with Oshiomhole but, more importantly, his inability to account successfully for his academic qualifications”, the PDP candidate added.
‘’Oshiomhole and Obaseki have become huge liabilities in the state because of their track record of hurting people with their insincerity, wickedness and ruthless sense of betrayal. Every known prominent people and others have had a taste of these traits.”
Ize-Iyamu rallied the people to use the opportunity provided by the election to punish APC for what he said was their fake promises, lies and for subjecting them to abject and gloomy poverty for years.
