Read about Jay Jay Okocha’s big dream

Published

on

Ex- international, Austin ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha was recently elected chairman of the Delta State Football Association, but that is not enough for the one-time round leather wizard. In fact, he see it as the starting point.

For the former Super Eagles captain, his dream is to someday be the president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

Okocha spke to fifa.com recently when he visited France to feature in the 12 Match Against Poverty, organised by Zinnedine Zidane and Ronaldo de Lima.

He said there is a need to support and encourage the younger generation in the game of football, because they have a lot to offer. “If we don’t give them the right backing, then it’s just going to be the same old story. We have youth teams that have shone in the past but which haven’t been able to push on at senior level”, he said.
