Real body of Dr. Orji found as Coursemate reveals why he committed suicide

The Nigerian police have confirmed that the real body of Dr. Allwell Orji who took his life when he plunged into Lagos Lagoon has been found.

As at the time of filing in this report, the Nigerian Police did not give any details about where and when the body of the doctor was found.

Meanwhile, a Coursemate and colleague of late Dr. Allwell Orji identified as Essien Attah has provided an insight into the likely circumstance that led the doctor into taking his own life.

In a message put out on social media, WhatsApp to be precise, Attah revealed that his failure to pass his postgraduate exam may have led the deceased to take his own life.

She wrote; Hmmmmm… Quite unfortunate; I know Dr Oji very well; we were course mates at a postgraduate course we completed 3 months ago. He had some health challenges then (seizure disorder a known sickle cell) and was always alone.

‘‘His parents gave him the jeep and employed the driver for him but at a point he lost the will to live. During one of our exams, he sat beside me and had a seizure. He quickly signalled me and I raised an alarm. Our exam was delayed by 20 minutes as we tried to resuscitate him. That episode brought us closer and that’s one of the reasons I am shocked at his death.

‘‘He didn’t pass the postgraduate exam and I guess after the news of his failure was broken to him via a call from one of our colleagues, he decided he should end it all…. MAY HIS SOUL R.I.P,’’ the message by Attah read in full.
