Real Madrid boss, Solari says team must improve to bring back fans

Real Madrid Coach Santiago Solari has expressed concern about the ‘fewness’ of the club fans that come to watch his team play at home in recent times.

The new boss admitted his players must do more to bring the fans to matches following their 2-0 defeat against Real Sociedad on Sunday.

A season-low crowd of just 53,412 watched Los Blancos stumble at home, and Solari’s men now sit ten points behind leaders Barcelona in La Liga.

“We must try to ensure they (fans) return to the stadium in future games,” Solari said in quotes carried by Diario AS and cited football espana.

“We know that our situation in this moment is not what we want it to be, we have dropped too many points and are not in a position where we are capable of reaching.

“Our objective is to win every game and we thought we could in this too, even when we were reduced to ten men, but unfortunately we could not score from a number of good opportunities.

“We played well in the first half but could not maintain this level and things just did not go right for us, including the officiating decisions,” he added.

Real are standing fifth on the table with 30 points, one behind fourth-placed Alaves.
