Senate President, Bukola Saraki has conceded all the four local government areas in Kwara Central senatorial district to the candidate of the All Progressives Congress ( APC ), Dr. Yahaya Oloriegbe.

Saraki who contested under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), got a total of 68,994 votes while Oloriegbe polled 123,808 votes across the four LGAs.

A further breakdown reveals that Oloriegbe got 15 932 against Saraki’s 11,252 votes in Asa local government while in Ilorin East, Oloriegbe got 30,014 and Saraki got 14,654.

In Ilorin west, which is the stronghold of Saraki, Oloriegbe had 51,531 votes to defeat the senate president with 30,075 votes.

In Ilorin South where the APC senatorial candidate floored the Senate President with 26,331 votes as against 13, 031 votes for the Senate President.

The defeat of Saraki, which has for years been the political overlord of Kwara State, signals the end of an era, which started with his late father, Dr. Olusola Saraki, in the politics of the state.

It is also an indication of the efficacy of the O To Ge (Enough is Enough) movement in the state that seeks to extricate the state from the overbearing lordship of the Saraki political hegemony in Kwara State.

Below is the break down of the official result as announced by INEC:
Ilorin west
APC 51,531
PDP 30,075

Ilorin East
APC 30,014
PDP 14,654

Ilorin South
APC26,331
PDP 13,013

Asa
APC 15932
PDP 11252
