For the first time after his emergence as President of the Nigerian Senate under controversial controversies, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki appeared publicly at the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja, to mark the nation’s 55 independence anniversary.

Joining other dignitaries, the embattled Senate President was at the Villa for the ceremonial change of guards held at the forecourt of the seat of power.

On arrival, Saraki took the salute and proceeded to exchange pleasantries with dignitaries before taking his seat beside Gen. Yakubu Gowon (retd.).

The Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, arrived a few minutes later, shaking hands with the dignitaries, including Saraki, before taking his seat beside the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara.
