President of the Senate of the Federal Republic, Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki (CON) has given the sum of Fifty thousand dollars ($50,0000) to the Super Eagles ahead of their international friendly against England, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) confirms.

The NFF also confirmed that there is a yet-to-be-revealed ‘special package’ for the entire team “for every unreplied goal” scored at the FIFA World Cup in Russia.

Number three citizen Saraki, who visited the national team on Tuesday night, described the present crop of players as the best–organized ever and bade them farewell to their sixth appearance at the FIFA World Cup finals in Russia.

“I have been following the performances and general behaviour of this squad. I must confess that I am very impressed,” the Senator said, according to NFF website.

“We no longer have schisms and different camps in the same camp, and you sacrifice a lot for the country without demanding so much before you go to battle.

“From the captain, Mikel Obi to the newest member of the squad, I assure you of the love of the entire country and the well –wishes of every Nigerian as you go to the FIFA World Cup and in fact, in all your endeavours.”

NFF president, Amaju Pinnick, who later made the revelation of the Senator’s gift to the team, lauded Saraki for his proven love and support, adding that with a “dedicated” coach like Gernot Rohr and a “God-fearing” captain like John Mikel Obi, the “sky will be the limit for this team” in Russia.

The Eagles are set to jet out to London today (Wednesday) after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential villa.

They will face England’s Three Lions in a friendly on Saturday before traveling to Austria where they will face Czech Republic in a final warm-up game ahead of the World Cup.
