Stockholm attack suspect is an ISIS sympathiser, Swedish police say

Swedish police have revealed that the 39-year-old Uzbek national who killed no less than four people during an attack that sent shivers throughout the Scandinavian country is an ISIS sympathiser.

The police also revealed that the suspect who hijacked a beer delivery truck before crashing it into a department store filled with people has been on wanted list for failing to comply with a deportation order.

“We know that the suspect had expressed sympathy for extremist organisations, among them IS,” Jonas Hysing, chief of national police operations, told a news conference, using an acronym for the ultra-hardline militant group.

Sweden’s police chief said on Saturday authorities were confident they had detained the man who carried out the attack.

“There is nothing that tells us that we have the wrong person,” Dan Eliason said, but added he did not know whether others were involved in the attack. “We cannot exclude this.”

One more suspect has been arrested according to Swedish police who say the man had a connection with the first suspect arrested in connection with the terror attack.
