Strike continues after FG, ASUU’s third meeting

The Federal Government delegation led by the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, and the Permanent Secretary, Sonny Echono, met with the leaders of the Academic Staff Union of Universities on Tuesday in Abuja, and reviewed further the Memorandum of Action signed in September 2017.

THE PUNCH correspondent learnt that ASUU’s strike however continues as the union leaders have to go back to consult with its National Executive Council members before reaching any final decision.

The Deputy Director of Press at the education ministry, Mr Ben Goong, confirmed that the two sides were meeting as of 8.30pm press time on Tuesday when he was contacted.

“Yes, the meeting is ongoing,” he simply said.
