What does a woman really want in a man?
This question may just be one of the most complicated queries to make considering that women are a complex kind with equally complex desires.
Even trying to answer this question through the eyes of Nigeria female celebrities in their thirties, still presents a complex jigsaw.
When Nollywood actress Ini Edo was romantically linked to American based ‘money bag’ Philip Ehiagwina in 2008 and the pair later consummated their affair by exchanging marital vows some years later, everything seemed perfect.
But six years later, they severed ties citing infidelity and irreconcilable differences as reason for their split with the bride’s family even going as far as returning the bride price. Now 34 years old, she remains single.
At age 19 when she plunged headlong into Nollywood, actress Genevieve Nnaji, who is now 37 years, was already a mother and over the years has not been romantically linked with any man, except when she alongside D’Banj led many into thinking they were dating when the music video for the song titled ‘Fall In Love’ hit the airwaves.
Popular blogger, Linda Ikeji on her 36th birthday reeled out the qualities she wants in any man worthy of her bosom.
She even went as far as mentioning American actor and comedian Tyler Perry (who is worth $400 million) as her ideal man, saying she can’t wait to see him, while also stating that she cannot marry a poor man.
Asides Linda who has specified her criteria, many wonder what would it actually take in a man to make these celebrities, and others like them settle down, take a man for a husband, and raise families of their own.
But on a closer look, the increasing challenge of Nigerian women finding Mr Right could be self-inflicted according to a Facebook post by comedian, Alibaba in 2014 which partly reads thus; “While you are looking, waiting for a guy to walk in and fit into your radar, you are doing some things that also confine you to the “never my type” hemisphere…”
So, ladies, do tell us what you really want in a man. And, guys, what do you think ladies are looking out for in men?
