World's most powerful rocket tested by NASA

American space agency, NASA, has tested the RS-25, said to be the most powerful rocket in history.

NASA is exploring manned missions to Mars, and it is expected that the RS-25 rocket system will be what they use to get there.

Their most recent tests had engineers fire the engine for 500 seconds to inspect the flight controller as the engine burned in place.

The Space Launch System (SLS) will be powered by a total of four RS-25 engines, combined with solid rocket boosters, to produce 8-million pounds of thrust to propel the Orion spacecraft skyward.

The Orion will be tested on an upcoming mission to orbit the moon.
