Yobe Dep Gov, Abubakar Ali escapes death in car crash

Another major disaster was averted on Monday, as the deputy governor of Yobe State, Abubakar Ali, survived an auto crash in Kano State.

According to a witness, Sanusi Abdul, the accident occurred in Daka-Tsalle town, along the expressway, adding that the SUV the deputy governor was travelling in had a head on collision with a Toyota Avensis car.

Luck was however on the side of the deputy governor, as his vehicle was not badly affected like the Toyota that was badly damaged and its occupants injured.

The deputy was said to have continued his journey to Kano afterwards. He was said to be heading to Kano to condole the state governor, Abdulaihi Ganduje, over the death of his mother.

It would be recalled that another top government official, James Ocholi, who was minister of state for Labour and productivity, died alongside his wife and first son in an accident on Abuja – Kaduna Expressway on Sunday.
