Junior Ajayi excited over Super Eagles call-up
Al Ahly’s Nigerian star, Junior Ajayi has expressed his happiness to have earned his first call-up to the senior national team ahead of this month’s friendly games.
The 22-year-old forward has been invited by Gernot Rohr for the pre-World Cup friendlies against Poland and Serbia.
Ajayi was part of the team that won the Africa U-23 title in Senegal back in 2015 as well as finish third place in the football event of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

He has been in fine form for Al Ahly in the Egyptian League this season, scoring eight goals and assisting nine in 23 games, which has earned him an invitation to the national team.
On Twitter, the former Shooting Stars star wrote, “With grateful heart and total respect to the family of @NGSuperEagles and all #Nigerians, this invitation to our National Team is a dream come true ?. I will make you all proud by the grace of God.”
The Eagles will face Poland on March 23rd in Warsaw before taking on Serbia four days later at the Hive Stadium in England.
The rest of the invited players for the friendlies will be made public later this week.
