2 cops penalised after 3-yr-old girl died in their patrol car
Two Mississippi cops have been punished by their superiors after they were both placed on a paid leave following the death of a 3-year-old (daughter of one of the officers) who died unattended to in a patrol vehicle.
The victim who is the daughter of officer Cassie Barker’s died Friday after the child was left in the car for four hours while her mother was visiting with Long Beach patrolman Clark Ladner.
According to Hancock County Chief Deputy Sheriff Don Bass both officers were off-duty at the time of the incident and have been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation.
The child who later died in the hospital was found in the car by investigators who revealed that the vehicle was running and the air conditioning was on.
