2019: PDP field gets even more crowded as Tambuwal picks presidential nomination form

Aminu Tambuwal, Governor of Sokoto State, has picked the presidential nomination form of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The former speaker of the House of Representatives who defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to the PDP earlier in the month, stormed the Wadata Plaza, headquarters of the party in Abuja with his supporters on Thursday evening.

Tambuwal’s move is coming on same day when Senate President Bukola Saraki officially declared his intention to run for president on the platform of the PDP.

With how things stand, the PDP would have a very crowded field going into its presidential primaries, as former vice president Atiku Abubakar and former governors of Kano and Jigawa states, Rabiu Kwankwaso and Sule Lamido, respectively, among others, have also declared their interest in the ticket.
