Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has said his side’s 4-3 defeat to Bournemouth on Sunday was because his side gave the game away when they stopped ‘playing football’, and that it will be OK if they learn from their mistakes.

Klopp insisted Bournemouth deserved the win, despite the fact that Liverpool were ahead for much of the match.

“First of all I have to say a deserved win for Bournemouth,” Klopp said. “A big fight from them. We gave the game away at a decisive point. We opened the door and they ran through and scored some wonderful goals. So that’s the deserved result.

“Even when we are in the lead at 2-0 it’s how we try to play football then we were static.

“We gave the game away because we didn’t play football any more.

“If we learn it’s OK. At 2-0 or 3-1 the game is not decided but the way we played after we gave it away. We gave Bournemouth the ball. These things happen,” he stated.

Nathan Ake grabbed the win for Bournemouth with an injury time strike, to help his side climb into the top 10 on the league table, while Liverpool are now four points adrift of leaders Chelsea.
