Bomb blast kills 18 in Maiduguri

Reports reaching Ripples say a massive explosion Tuesday evening rocked a motor park in Yola, the Adamawa State capital, after what has been seen by many as a long period of major inactivity by the deadly sect, Boko Haram.

The explosion is suspected to have been from an improvised Explosive Device, IED.

According to witnesses, the explosion was so loud it could be heard all over the city, adding that many people are suspected to have been killed.

One of the witnesses said: “I am currently at the scene and we are helping to evacuate injured to the Hospital, there are many dead bodies all over the place”.

Reports say the scene of the blast is close to the main vegetable market in the town and the explosion occurred as traders were closing for the day and rushing home.
