The announcement is coming two months after the rights to host Pan African Music Initiative, was ceded to Nigeria for the next three years after approval by the African Union (AU).

That much information was revealed by the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed in a statement issued at the time.

In the statement, Lai said the award of the hosting right was conveyed in a letter written to him by the Commissioner of Social Affairs at the African Union Commission, Mrs Amira Elfadil.
