PDP CALL FOR IG’s RESIGNATION: Police fumes, denies working for APC

The Senate on Wednesday went into a closed door session, to take a decision over the refusal of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Ibrahim Idris to appear for the third time before the upper legislative chamber.

The IGP was first invited a fortnight ago, but failed to show up. Again, he was resummoned to to appear last week. He declined. For the last time, the Senate invited him to appear today. He refused to show up.
The Senate on Wednesday, thereafter passed a vote of no confidence on the the IGP Idris and has described him as unfit to hold a public office.

The position of the Senate followed the third refusal of the IGP to appear before the Senate, despite series of invitations.

At the end of the closed door session, the Senate is expected to take a decision on the appropriate sanctions to mete out to the police boss.
