Soldiers from the 22 Brigade Garrison have killed a notorious Boko Haram commander, popularly known as Ameer Dalore, and 18 other members of the sect.

This happened during a clean-up operation of terrorists’ camps in Borno state, Army Spokesman Col. Sani Usman said.

He also said, “The troops also captured 2 AK-47 Rifles, 1 Small Machine Gun and 1 Hand Grenade and recovered 4 pickup
vehicles”, adding that “the troops rescued 67 hostages from the terrorists.”

Col. Sani Usman said the freed hostages are undergoing screening at Internally Displaced Persons camp in Dikwa, but regretted that the troops’ Mine Resistant Anti-Personnel (MRAP) vehicle ran into an Improvised Explosive Device and had a damaged tyre during the operation.
