BAYELSA: 3 suspects arrested for murder of cattle dealer, 3 employees

The long arm of the law has caught up with three suspects arrested in connection with the murder of a prominent cattle dealer and three of his employees in Yenagoa, the capital of Bayelsa State.

According to Mr. Asuquo Amba, the Bayelsa State Commissioner of Police, the suspects were arrested by men of the command and are now facing interrogation and profiling.

The CP said; “We have so far taken three suspects into custody and we are profiling them and their communication.

“We are looking at their phone communications. From the facts before us, it is an assassination done at a close range and the deceased must have been known to them.

“We are equally looking at the leadership issues and election of the Fulani traders. We are following the clues that we have and I am hopeful that we shall have a breakthrough.”

Reports say the cattle dealer identified as Jibril Abdulkarim, the Bayelsa State Chairman of the Cattle Breeders’ Association, was shot dead alongside his employees on Saturday, December 2, 2017, at at his private abattoir in Yenagoa.
