BORNO: Boko Haram hijacks bus, kidnap 20 passengers

The dreaded Boko Haram group has struck again in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State after the insurgents hijacked a bus and kidnapped 20 traveling passengers.

The incident was confirmed by Isa Musa a relative of one of the kidnap victims, who told Reuters that between 10 and 20 people were kidnapped by the insurgents.

He said; “Boko Haram attacked a commercial vehicle and abducted some civilians – over 10 men and women were abducted.”

Musa stressed that his “uncle was in the bus with some other passengers, men and women, about 20 of them, when the incident occurred.”

As at the time of filing this report, there was no official statement on the attack but the incident was confirmed by a soldier, who declined to be named.
