Brazil legend Ronaldo says he can see some of himself in Marcus Rashford.

The Manchester United starlet has burst onto the scene with some impressive displays in the second-half of the season and has clearly won some illustrious admirers in his fledgling career.

Among them is former Barcelona, Real Madrid and Inter Milan star Ronaldo who drew comparisons between the 18-year-old and himself.

In particular, it is Rashford’s composure on the ball, courage and pace that has been reminding Ronaldo of his younger days.

The 39-year-old told The Sun: “He’s a very good young player. I see some of myself in him for sure — he has courage and he’s fast and is very good with the ball.

“I think for the strikers they have to be hungry to score and I see that with him. He has an amazing future.’

Rashford made his debut in the Europa League game against FC Midtjylland in February and scored two goals. He scored another two goals on his Premier League debut against Arsenal a few days later.

He currently has a recorded seven goals in 15 first-team appearances. That still gives him a little way to go before he can match Ronaldo’s record of 352 goals in 518 club games.
