BREAKING: Nigeria records 437 new cases of COVID-19 as total figure rises to 46,577; death toll stands at 945

Nigeria on Sunday night recorded 437 fresh COVID-19 cases.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), which confirmed this on its Twitter handle, said the fresh cases were recorded in 16 states of the federation and Abuja.

It added that three persons died from complications resulting from the virus on Sunday.

Consequently, the number of COVID-19 fatalities increased from 942 to 945.

Also, the total number of confirmed cases increased to 46,577.

Meanwhile, 33,186 patients have been discharged from various isolation facilities across the country as at Sunday night.

The breakdown of the figure on a state-by-state basis revealed the following: Lagos (107), FCT (91), Plateau (81), Kaduna (32), Ogun (30), Kwara (24), Ebonyi (19), Ekiti (17), Oyo (8), Borno (6) and, Edo (6).

Others are – Kano (4), Nasarawa (3), Osun (3), Taraba (3), Gombe (2) and, Bauchi (1).

The NCDC said: “46,577 cases of #COVID-19 in Nigeria.

“Discharged: 33,186 AND Deaths: 945.”
