CATTLE COLONY: Gov Bello can’t allocate land he doesn’t own to foreigners —Community leader

Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello has been warned against tinkering with the idea of apportioning land in Kogi State for the Federal Government to build cattle colonies for herdsmen.

A community leader in the state, Prince Alhassan Ejike, gave the warning in Lokoja, the state capital on Thursday, saying that Kogi State does not belong to Governor Bello and that he has no right to allocate it to foreigners.

Ejike stated this during an interactive session with newsmen in response to the governor’s recent statement that the proposed cattle colony is for the interest of his people and was going to boost the state economy and afford better lives for the citizens.

But obviously unhappy with Governor Bello’s welcoming of the programme that many of his colleagues in other states are rejecting, Ejike said, “You (Bello) are not the owner of Kogi and you cannot allocate a land that doesn’t belong to you to foreigners.”
