COVID-19 claims son of late activist and poet, Ken Saro-Wiwa

The death of Menegian, son of the late environmental activist and poet, Ken Saro-Wiwa, has been announced by his sister who revealed that he lost his life after contracting the deadly COVID-19 virus.

Noo Saro-Wiwa, sister of the deceased, took to Facebook to announce the death of her brother after he was hospitalised in Britain on Monday following complications from the deadly virus.

In the post on Facebook, Noo Saro-Wiwa informed that her brother (born in 1970) who left a son, Louis, had underlying health conditions before contracting the lethal virus which eventually claimed his life.

“We said goodbye to my brother, Gian, on Monday. He had COVID-19 combined with underlying health conditions.

“Gian was the smartest and most talented out of all of us: a champion sprinter at school, a poet, an artist, budding engineer, a self-taught guitarist, and pianist. But mental health issues limited his life from age 16 onwards,” Noo wrote in a Facebook post.
