COVID-19: Italy’s infection rate drops to lowest since outbreak

Italy’s Civil Protection Agency has announced a drastic decline in the daily infection rate of coronavirus on Monday since the 17th of March when the epidemic broke out.

The agency confirmed that the number of new cases only rose by 4,050 from a previous 97,689 hitting a total of 101,739.

The country also recorded a slight increase in daily recovery rates nationwide from 13,030 a day before, to 14,620 as at Monday.

However, death rates still climbed by 812 to 11,591 with 75 new patients admitted into the intensive care department.
